1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for the dynamic shear strength of adhesive tapes.
This standard is applicable for the determination of the dynamic shear strength of adhesive tapes, used for quality control of adhesive tape products.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 22396 and the following are applicable to this document.
3.1 Dynamic Shear Strength
The maximum force required to cause adhesive failure when an adhesive tape is bonded to a specific surface under a specified width and stretched parallel to the bonding surface at a constant rate.
Note: The unit is N/cm.
4 Classification
Based on different types of adhesive tapes, the test methods for dynamic shear strength of adhesive tapes are divided into three types: single-sided adhesive tape, double-sided adhesive tape, and foam adhesive tape.
5 Principle
An adhesive tape specimen is bonded to a test steel plate under a certain pressure, and a tensile shear force is applied to the bonding surface parallel to the direction of the bonding surface at a constant rate. The adhesive layer on the bonding surface of the adhesive tape deforms under the action of the shear force, and as the shear force increases, the deformation of the adhesive layer on the bonding surface increases until adhesive failure occurs.
6 Apparatus and Materials
6.1 Testing Machine
A constant speed tensile testing machine shall be used. The testing machine should be equipped with two clamps, the holding surfaces of which are in the same plane in the direction of movement. One clamp should be able to move at a uniform rate of 5 mm/min, and the testing accuracy should not be lower than 1%.
